The skimmer is an essential part of your pool’s water maintenance system. This is where the water is sucked in and then passes through the pump and filter, where it is cleaned and returned free of impurities through the return jet.
When the pump starts operating, the suction force causes the flap to tilt inward into the skimmer, allowing all the dirt floating in the water (leaves, flowers, insects, dust, etc.) to enter and begin the filtration process. When the pump stops suction, the flap closes, preventing the dirt from returning to the water.
Over time and with use, these flaps can break or deteriorate, preventing them from performing their function effectively.
