Description
The new Aquascenic HD2 Low-Salinity Electrolysis + Hydrolysis + Ionization equipment uses three disinfection methods to achieve perfect water sterilization without the need to add any chemical products.
Hydrolysis breaks down the water molecule, thereby generating oxygen-based disinfecting agents (O³, O², OH...). Electrolysis uses the chlorides present in the water (no salt needs to be added) to produce HClO (disinfectant). As a third disinfection system, it uses copper and silver ionization, producing an algaecidal, bactericidal, and flocculating effect to create a residual disinfectant.
With the new Aquascenic HD2 Hydrolysis + Ionization + Low-Salinity Electrolysis equipment, you will have a comprehensive solution for treating water with maximum effectiveness.

Operation
We will explain the operating principles of the "AQUASCENIC" low-salinity Electrolysis + Hydrolysis + Ionization equipment.
Low-salinity Hydrolysis and/or Electrolysis.
Water is composed of 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen (H2O).
Hydrolysis etymologically means decomposition by water. Hydrolysis is a process for generating hydrogen and oxygen using electricity and water.
When an electric current passes through water, the chemical bond breaks, and the negative charges or oxygen ions migrate to the positive electrode (anode). The positively charged hydrogen ions are attracted to the negative electrode (cathode). The decomposition that occurs is as follows:
Electrical energy +2 H²O → 2 H² + O²
This results in an extra negative element, since the combination contains one more electron than protons. It is now a single negatively charged hydroxide, or hydroxyl ion (OH -).
Hydrolysis involves numerous secondary chemical reactions that also produce ionic species with oxidizing and disinfecting power, such as ozone (O²), monatomic oxygen (O1), and hydrogen peroxide (H²O²).
The electronic circuit in our control box transforms the current (220 V, 50 Hz) into low-voltage, high-amperage direct current. This current is supplied to titanium electrodes activated with noble metals, installed in the water recirculation system in a support specially designed for this purpose.
These insoluble electrodes create a combination of the most powerful oxidants available for water disinfection, thereby avoiding the use of chemicals.
If we add a small amount of salt to this treatment—between 1 and 2 g of salt per liter of water—either due to insufficient conductivity or to produce a measurable residual, the same system will also generate a low-concentration chlorine residual through salt electrolysis. The products decompose, act, and regenerate. The residual disinfectant generated by electrolysis will not harm bathers’ eyes, skin, or health.
You will not have to worry if your pool runs out of salt, as the system will continue disinfecting in Hydrolysis mode.
The chlorine generated destroys the organic matter and pathogens present in the water, transforming back into sodium chloride (common salt).
Copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) ionization.
The combined use of copper and silver, both with high disinfecting capabilities, greatly increases the effectiveness of each of our systems. In the case of cold water, if this is further supported by the presence of a third compatible element (chlorine), the disinfection progression is geometric.
The addition of metals to water as disinfectants has been used for many years, from Greek culture through the Middle Ages and even in America, during the colonization of the Old West, where a silver dollar was also placed in water barrels. Today, silver ions are added to beverages as common as beer, spirits, and wine.
