Description
Description
The new low-salinity electrolysis + ultraviolet UVscenic UV 33 system, for private or public swimming pools, uses two disinfection methods to achieve perfect water sterilization without adding any chemical products.
On the one hand, oxidants are generated through low-salinity electrolysis (from 1.5 g of NaCl/l). On the other hand, the water is exposed to UV-C radiation, which additionally helps neutralize bacteria, viruses, other primary organisms, and chloramines.
Compared with other electrolysis equipment, it stands out as a latest-generation system, much more innovative and offering numerous advantages.
- This equipment is a world first.
- It maintains all the physical and chemical characteristics of your pool water.
- It features ultraviolet lamps with a service life of up to 9,000 hours.
- It requires a lower concentration of dissolved salt in the water.
- It eliminates the need for chlorine and chemical products.
- It protects people's health and the environment.
- The combined action of electrolysis and ultraviolet irradiation ensures perfect water disinfection.
- It generates a completely natural chlorination-flocculation-algaecide cycle.
- It is especially suitable for small swimming pools.
Features
- Removable display.
- Password-protected access menus.
- Temperature.
- Safety: no flow // no salt // cover detection.
- Disinfection using hydrogen and oxygen and/or salt, supported by UV treatment.
- Automatic control of pH (+/-), redox, CL2, and conductivity.
- Setpoints, standby time, and dosing can be configured using patterns or at a single setpoint.
- The system can operate either automatically or manually, as you prefer.
- Optional wired or via Wi-Fi.
- You can operate the equipment using a VistaPool remote control.
- It includes an electronic control box and a titanium cell with a transparent PVC housing measuring Ø 63 mm.
- Titanium cell with a transparent PVC housing measuring Ø 63 mm.
- Longer irradiation chamber for greater effectiveness.
Operation
Next, we will explain how the UVSCENIC disinfection system works.
Low-salinity hydrolysis and/or electrolysis.
Water is composed of 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen (H2O).
Hydrolysis etymologically means decomposition by water. Hydrolysis is a process for generating hydrogen and oxygen through electricity and water.
When an electric current passes through water, the chemical bond breaks down; the negative charges, or oxygen ions, migrate to the positive electrode (anode). The positively charged hydrogen ions are attracted to the negative electrode (cathode). The decomposition that occurs is as follows:
Electrical energy +2 H²O → 2 H² + O²
This results in an extra negative charge, as the combination contains one more electron than protons. It is now a single negatively charged hydroxide, or hydroxyl ion (OH -).
Hydrolysis involves numerous secondary chemical reactions that also produce ionic species with oxidizing and disinfecting power, such as ozone (O²), monatomic oxygen (O1), and hydrogen peroxide (H²O²).
The electronic circuit in our control box transforms the current (220 V, 50 Hz) into low-voltage, high-amperage direct current. This current is supplied to titanium electrodes activated with noble metals, installed in the water recirculation system in a support specially designed for this purpose.
These insoluble electrodes create a combination of some of the most powerful oxidants available for water disinfection, thus avoiding the use of chemicals.
If we add a small amount of salt to this treatment—between 1 and 2 g of salt per liter of water—either due to insufficient conductivity or to produce a measurable residual, the same system will also generate a low-concentration residual chlorine through salt electrolysis. The products decompose, act, and regenerate. The residual disinfectant generated by electrolysis will not harm the eyes, skin, or the health of bathers.
You will not have to worry if your pool runs out of salt, as the system will continue disinfecting in Hydrolysis mode.
The chlorine generated destroys the organic matter and pathogens present in the water, transforming back into sodium chloride (common salt).
Ultraviolet radiation.
Ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nanometers destroys all organic matter through a process of photolysis and photo-oxidation.
Thanks to the double housing length of our system, the water is exposed for longer to a much higher dose of UV-C radiation.
The housing is made of ABS, preventing dirt from adhering and withstanding salt concentrations of up to 10 g NaCl/l.
They destroy chloramines and eliminate Legionella without altering or modifying the physical and chemical characteristics of the water.
The low-pressure UV-C lamps from the prestigious Philips brand have a lifespan of up to 9,000 hours.
