Astralpool Hydrospin Prefilter

Save 50% of the water used to wash your filter. HydroSpin is a hydrocyclonic pre-filter that can be installed in both new and existing filtration systems. It can handle flow rates of up to 30 m³/h at a maximum working pressure of 2.5 bar. It is installed between the pump and the filter, separating solids down to 40 microns and thereby halving the filtration system's backwash water consumption. The HydroSpin has a solids collection tank with three separate zones (sedimentation, clarification, and thickening). It can be cleaned using just 5 liters of water without stopping the pump. · Significant reduction in filter-washing operations. · Low head loss, allowing installation without replacing the existing pump. · It can be installed on the floor using the supplied accessories or on the wall using DN300 flanges.

Installation

• The HydroSpin pre-filter must be installed between the pump and the filter. Make sure there is a drain in the area where the HydroSpin is installed. Install it on a horizontal surface and ensure that there is sufficient space around the HydroSpin for the inspections and maintenance required throughout its service life. It can be installed in either of two ways: on the wall or with three supports.

Wall installation

1. You must first purchase the 2-flange kit for DN250 pipe.
2. Install the flanges on the wall in their final position, with a distance of 95 mm between them.
3. Position the HydroSpin using the corresponding support.
4. Bolt the flanges in place.
5. Glue fittings or 3-piece fittings for Ø63 pipe to the HydroSpin inlet and outlet.
6. It is recommended to install valves at both the inlet and outlet.
7. Screw the purge valve into the bottom of the HydroSpin, applying Teflon tape to the thread. Check that it is fully closed.
8. Connect a pipe to the HydroSpin purge outlet and route it to the drain.
   
9. It is recommended to install a pressure gauge at the HydroSpin inlet.
10. Start the pump.

Installation with the three supports.

1. Press-fit the three supports into the support ring (Fig. 2)
2. Position the HydroSpin in the support ring at its final location.
3. Continue at point 5 of the previous section.
