The prefilter lid gasket for Hayward Max Flow pumps is made of high-quality rubber that is resistant to chemical agents.
Note that the gasket cord profile is not round but rectangular, measuring 4 mm wide and 7 mm high.
If this gasket is deteriorated, it prevents the pool pump from suctioning properly, causing air leaks that make the filtration system malfunction.
When you notice that the motor loses water through the prefilter lid once it has stopped, it is time to replace it. The same applies if you notice small bubbles entering through the lid.
