Preguntas frecuentes sobre DOLPHIN SWASH SERIES
Which pool cleaners make up the Dolphin Swash Series?
The Dolphin Swash Series comprises independent automatic pool-cleaning robots by Maytronics, primarily featuring the Swash CL and Swash TC variants for autonomous maintenance of private pools.
These units feature technologies designed for mechanical durability:
- Dual traction motor with split axle for making 360-degree turns without getting stuck in corners.
- Combination brushes compatible with concrete, liner, polyester, and tile surfaces.
- Filter bag or basket with retaining swing flaps that trap particles as small as 50 microns.
- Self-floating cable with a rotating Swivel connection to prevent tangling during movement.
Both options operate connected directly to their own power supply, without relying on the filtration pump.
I have a 10x5-meter tiled pool with a steep slope. Which Dolphin Swash Series model is right for me?
For a 10x5-meter pool with a steep slope and tile lining, the Dolphin Swash Series Swash CL or Swash TC model provides the required grip and traction power thanks to its combination PVC rollers and foam rings.
Tile reduces friction, making the dual traction motor with split axle essential for the robot to climb the slope without slipping. While a single-traction model loses grip on slopes steeper than 30 degrees, the Swash system maintains continuous contact with the glass surface. You can complete water testing by analyzing chemical parameters with a Scuba II pool photometer to prevent limescale deposits that could hinder the unit's traction during 2.5-hour cycles.
What is the difference between the Dolphin Swash CL and Swash TC?
The main technical difference between the Dolphin Swash CL and Swash TC lies in their work-cycle management and coverage capacity along the waterline.
The Swash CL model has a standard fixed 2.5-hour cycle focused on the pool floor and wall climbing in pools up to 12 meters long. The Swash TC, on the other hand, features an advanced transformer with a 1- and 3-hour dual-cycle selector, an 18-meter cable with a reinforced Swivel system, and greater turbine pumping flow for pools up to 15 meters. If you need to schedule quick cleanings before swimming, the Swash TC offers greater versatility than the CL's continuous-operation setup.
I'm concerned that the robot will release the accumulated dirt when I take it out of the water. How does the Swash series prevent this?
The side-panel system with retaining swing flaps automatically seals the filter inlet ducts when the suction motor stops, preventing debris from flowing back into the water.
In the Swash range, Maytronics implements this physical gravity-based mechanism:
- The flaps remain open during pumping thanks to the forced flow of 16 to 17 cubic meters per hour.
- When the unit is switched off or lifted vertically by the handle, the flap swings shut and blocks the bag or basket compartment.
- The quick-drain system releases only the clean water collected in the chassis without dispersing sand or silt.
This design ensures that captured sediment is retained securely inside the filter basket.
What maintenance does the internal filter of a Dolphin Swash Series robot require?
Preventive filter maintenance for a Dolphin Swash Series robot requires rinsing the collection element with pressurized water after each complete vacuuming cycle to maintain the turbine’s flow rate.
Remove the basket or fabric bag by pressing the tabs on the underside of the chassis. Rinse with a garden hose until the mud accumulated in the 50- or 70-micron fibers is removed. Avoid using stiff brushes that could tear the fabric. After every two months of continuous use, once dry, check that the rubber valves and swing flaps are free of embedded gravel. A clogged filter raises power consumption above the usual 150 watts and reduces grip on the wall.
I’m going to buy a Dolphin robot for my private-use community pool. What perimeter protection and electrical safety features does it offer?
Dolphin robots operate using a watertight, low-voltage power supply that converts mains electricity to a safe voltage below 30 volts DC in the water.
This unit has IP54 protection in the control panel and IP68 full submersion protection in the motor units. To ensure safety in family recreation areas, we recommend installing surface-monitoring devices such as the Aqualarm pool alarm beside the pool. The Swash unit automatically stops driving if it detects that it is out of the water for more than 30 seconds, protecting the ceramic seals and transmission gears from overheating.
How often should the brushes and belts on the Dolphin Swash Series be replaced?
The combination brushes and toothed drive belts on the Dolphin Swash Series are usually replaced every 2 or 3 seasons, depending on the type of pool lining and total hours of use.
You should replace these consumables when the following signs of wear appear:
- Visible wear on the brush’s rubber profile until it is level with the roller’s plastic base.
- Loss of tension or softening of the side drive belts, causing the robot to slip.
- Loose drive tracks that prevent the pool cleaner from climbing a vertical tiled or liner-covered wall.
Purchasing original components guarantees exact dimensional compatibility with the Maytronics motor unit.
