The pre-filter cover gasket for Hayward Max Flow pumps is made of high-quality rubber that is resistant to chemical agents.
Note that the profile of the joint bead is not round, it is rectangular, having a width of 4 mm. and a height of 7 mm.
If this rubber is damaged, it prevents the correct suction of the pool motor, causing air intakes that cause the filtration system to fail.
When you notice that once the engine is stopped, water is leaking from the pre-filter cover, it is time to change it. The same thing happens if you notice small bubbles entering through the lid.
