Preguntas frecuentes sobre Sand filters
The delivery time depends on the product reference, availability, and destination of the order. Check the information shown on the filter’s product page before completing your purchase.
Orders over €100 qualify for free shipping to mainland Spain, except for products subject to special transport conditions.
If you need to replace the filter urgently, pay particular attention to availability and the estimated lead time for the chosen model. You can also browse our full range of pool filters.
How do I know which sand filter I need for my pool?
To choose it correctly, you must consider the pool volume, required flow rate, installed pump, and the installation’s hydraulic characteristics.
It is not advisable to select a filter solely by its diameter or the pool’s cubic-metre capacity. Also check the nominal flow rate, filtration speed, working pressure, and connections specified by the manufacturer.
The pump and filter must be correctly sized to work together as a system.
How can I tell whether the sand filter is compatible with my pump?
The main comparison should be between the pump’s flow rate and the flow rate accepted by the filter. You should also check the connections, working pressure, and hydraulic configuration.
Not all filters use 32, 38, or 50 mm connections, nor are they automatically compatible with any pump.
If you are replacing existing equipment, knowing the brand and reference number of the pump and old filter makes the choice considerably easier.
Is a sand filter with a top-mount or side-mount valve better?
Both configurations can provide adequate filtration. The main difference lies in the position of the selector valve and the arrangement of the connections.
Top-mount valve filters can be compact in certain installations, while a side-mount valve offers a different configuration that may facilitate certain maintenance operations depending on the filter’s design.
The choice will depend on the available space, existing pipes, and the equipment’s characteristics.
Does the selector valve come included with the sand filter?
It depends on the model. Some filters are sold with a multiport valve, pressure gauge, and other components, while the configuration or included equipment may differ for others.
Always check the contents listed in the product data sheet before placing your order.
Do not assume that a valve is included merely because it appears in an image of the product.
Does the sand or filter glass come included with the filter?
Not necessarily. With many models, the filter medium must be purchased separately.
Before purchasing silica sand, filter glass, or another compatible medium, check the quantity and grain size recommended by the manufacturer in the product data sheet.
If you replace sand with glass, you should not assume that you need exactly the same quantity of material. Follow the instructions for the filter medium being used.
How many kilograms of sand does my filter need?
The quantity depends on the filter model and diameter, so there is no universal quantity.
Check the quantity of filter medium specified in the manufacturer's technical data sheet and also comply with the specified grain size.
Adding more or less material than recommended may affect the filter's operation, so it is important to correctly identify the reference before purchasing the filter medium.
Can I use filter glass in a sand filter?
In many filters, certain types of filter glass can be used as an alternative to silica sand, but you must check compatibility beforehand.
Check the manufacturer's instructions regarding the type of medium, grain size, and required quantity.
The glass is the filter medium; the equipment remains a filter designed to operate with a compatible granular medium.
What warranty does a sand filter have?
The warranty depends on the manufacturer and model, in addition to the rights applicable under the relevant regulations.
A manufacturing defect must be distinguished from damage resulting from incorrect installation, operation outside the specifications, or improper maintenance.
Keep the invoice or proof of purchase and follow the manufacturer's installation, usage, and maintenance instructions.
Can I return a filter if I ordered the wrong model?
For online purchases, you have the applicable right of withdrawal in accordance with the regulations and applicable terms of sale.
The general withdrawal period for distance purchases in Spain and the EU is 14 calendar days, although its conditions and possible exceptions must be taken into account.
If you have any doubts about the item received, check its compatibility and review the return conditions before installing or using the filter.
How can I find out whether a sand filter is available?
Check the availability status shown on the product page when placing the order.
Stock may vary depending on the product reference and time of year, so not all filters necessarily have the same dispatch time.
If you need the equipment urgently, use the availability and estimated lead time of the specific model as a reference before completing the purchase.
Can I replace my old filter with one of a larger diameter?
It may be possible, but a larger-diameter filter should not be chosen in isolation.
You must check its flow rate, filtration rate, pressure, connections, and compatibility with the existing pump. You should also make sure that you have enough space to install it and carry out maintenance.
A larger filter does not automatically guarantee better results if the rest of the system is not correctly sized.
What maintenance does a sand filter need?
Regularly monitor the pressure on the pressure gauge and backwash when appropriate, according to the manufacturer's instructions and the usual behavior of the clean filter.
It is also advisable to periodically check the multiport valve, seals, pressure gauge, drains, and the condition of the filter media.
Sand or glass should not be replaced according to a universal number of years: its condition depends on usage, water quality, and maintenance.
Why is sand coming out of the filter into the pool?
The presence of sand in the pool may be related to a problem with the collectors or laterals, distributor pipe, internal assembly, or filter media used, depending on the filter design.
If the sand has just been replaced, also check that the quantity and grain size specified by the manufacturer were used.
If the problem continues, it is advisable to check the internal components before adding more filter media.
